2021 Yangarra GSM

Halliday Wine Companion 2024 TOP-RATED GRENACHE & BLENDS, 97 POINTS - James Halliday, August 2023. This GSM Blend of 53% Grenache, 33% Shiraz, 14% Mourvèdre. This Grenache is handpicked from their old bush vines planted in 1946, which forms the back-bone of this wine. The most elegant and perfumed Shiraz was selected to complement the blend and lastly the winemaker added Mourvèdre to give fragrance and a solid tannin structure. All resulting in one of the best GSM blends in Australia.

2021 Yangarra Shiraz

TOP RATED SHIRAZ Halliday Wine Companion 2024 & 97 POINTS - James Halliday, August 2023. Expect a robust symphony of flavours, typically unveiling layers of ripe blackberries and plums. The nose carries a delightful mix of dark fruit with hints of chocolate and spiced notes. On the palate, expect a full-bodied texture with well-integrated tannins and a certain earthiness, underpinned by a gentle acidity that brings balance. The finish is long, echoing with the warmth of vanilla. Yangarra does it again.

2015 Yangarra Shiraz

2015 Shiraz re-released from Yangarra's cellar. Was originally given 95 points in the 2018 Halliday Wine Companion, where it was described as "excellent dark-purple hue; succulent and velvety texture with some power to the chiselled tannins, savoury yet pristine fruit is the key. Rating 95 cellar to 2032. Now 9 years later, it is just hitting its peak.

Winemaker's Notes

2021 VINTAGE SUMMARY

A favourable growing season, with good winter rains, a mild flowering and fruit set period and continued spring rainfall. Vines showed good balance of shoot vigour and moderate berry size. The ripening period that began late January was very cool, with some welcome rainfall in mid-February. The cold nights and mild sunny days in March slowed sugar accumulation, resulting in excellent fruit ripeness and intensity.
