The Penfolds story began in 1844 when Dr Christopher and Mary Penfold established their vineyard at Magill Estate, near Adelaide. What began as a pioneering venture would grow into one of the most recognised names in Australian wine.

Central to that story is a distinctive philosophy: rather than being confined to a single vineyard or region, Penfolds has long embraced the art of blending exceptional fruit to achieve a consistent and recognisable house style.

That philosophy reached new heights through the work of legendary winemaker Max Schubert, whose creation of Penfolds Grange helped redefine the possibilities of Australian fine wine.
