What does Sauvignon Blanc taste like?
Typically light to medium-bodied with lively acidity and notes of lime, grapefruit, passionfruit and gooseberry, plus a fresh herbaceous edge (cut grass, snow pea). Adelaide Hills and Tasmania lean citrus/mineral; Margaret River is often riper and more textural.
What’s the difference between Sauvignon Blanc and SSB/SBS blends?
Adding Semillon brings lemony drive, texture and ageability, softening Sauvignon Blanc’s punchy aromatics. SSB/SBS (Sémillon–Sauvignon) from Margaret River can feel rounder and more food-friendly, while single-varietal Sauvignon is usually brighter and more aromatic.
Serving temperature and food pairings?
Serve 6–10 °C. Great with seafood, salads, goat’s cheese, asparagus, sushi and zesty Asian dishes (Thai/Vietnamese). Blended styles (SSB/SBS) work well with white fish, roast chicken and creamy sauces.
