In 2018 I started an Instagram account called Wine Review Simple — straight-talk reviews, zero snobbery, and a lot of love for Australian winemakers. Over time it grew into a community of 12,000+ engaged followers, and something important happened: I met the people behind the bottles.
The more I tasted, the more I realised the best wines weren’t always the loudest ones — they were often made by small, independent producers doing the work quietly, properly, and with pride. So I made the call to “put my money where my mouth is” and build a store around the wines I’d actually recommend to mates.

After 22 years in policing, I swapped briefing rooms for barrel rooms — but I kept the same standards: discipline, integrity, and attention to detail. Today I personally taste and hand-select every bottle on Wine Simple and work directly with winemakers I trust.
