Silkman’s Shiraz Pinot Noir 2022 is an elegant exploration of contrast and balance. In warmer regions like the Hunter, Shiraz often dominates; here, Silkman leans into subtlety, lifting the palate with Pinot Noir brightness and weaving in structure and depth from the Shiraz. The moderate climate and vineyard choices allowed perfect ripeness for both components. Instead of maximal phenolics, the winemaking aimed for finesse: lower extraction, neutral oak, and preservation of aromatics. The resulting wine offers a layered journey—berries and spice up front, a mid-palate of forest floor and iron, then a lingering finish defined by acidity and texture. It’s versatile: drink now for freshness or age for mid-term complexity.
