This wine embraces Semillon in its traditional form but refocuses the style through added weight and texture on the palate.

Glover Wines is the first vintage from Emily Glover under her own label. Emily was able to source fruit from the famed Oakey Creek Vineyard in the Hunter Valley.

Emily has recently been awarded 2024 Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Awards: Young Achiever of the Year, Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Sydney Royal Wine Professional Development Scholarship and the the Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association (HVWTA) Advanced Wine Technical Scholarship.

Awards

Recently the RAS Foundation (RASF) and the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Wine Committee awarded Emily Glover the Sydney Royal Wine Professional Development Scholarships to enhance her skills in the winemaking profession. Not only that, she also won the Brokenwood Wines Advanced Wine Technical Scholarship which will take Glover to the Australia Wine Research Institute in South Australia for further training.

Meet the maker: Emily Glover

Emily is a winemaker at De Iuliis wines in the Hunter Valley, and previously had roles in the winemaking team for Brokenwood Wines and Agnew Wines.

Always seeking opportunities to further her craft, Emily has honed her skills with vintages abroad in Burgundy and Napa Valley. Emily will complete her Bachelor of Wines Science at Charles Sturt University this year. This knowledge and experience she has gained at home and abroad has equipped Emily with wine show judging skills and she has been an associate judge at the Hunter Valley, Cowra & Single Vineyard Wine Shows.

Stylistically, Emily’s winemaking balances traditional techniques with innovative approaches that both respect the heritage and history of the industry, while also incorporating new and exciting ideas that push the boundaries of what is possible.

Driven by an affinity with sustainable winemaking Emily champions environmentally responsible and socially equitable practices that aim to preserve the health of the land, support local communities, and produce high-quality wines for future generations.

Emily's wine brand, Glover Wines, launched in 2022, debuting a Hunter Valley Semillon.
