SKU:2019 | Barossa Valley | Zinfandel
The Hoffmann Dallwitz Block Zinfandel 2019 is a bold and expressive red wine. Zinfandel, often considered an alternative red wine in Australia, thrives in the Hoffmann family’s Dallwitz Block in the Barossa Valley. This 2019 vintage bursts with ripe blackberries, plums, and a hint of black pepper, while maintaining balance with fresh acidity and well-integrated tannins. The Hoffmann family’s commitment to sustainable farming and small-batch winemaking ensures this Zinfandel delivers both character and quality.
Adrian continues to pay tribute to the classic California style with four years in new Amercian Oak and an additional year in the bottle to ensure you get to savor a balanced wine on the palate.
5 Years under its belt and just received 95 points from Erin Larkin
The 2019 Dallwitz Block Zinfandel is enjoyable now but will benefit from cellaring for the next 8-10 years. Its bold structure and concentrated fruit will continue to evolve, offering more complexity with age.
Meet the maker: Adrian Hoffmann
Sixth generation and current custodian of the Hoffmann Vineyard Adrian grew up on the property spending a lot of time with his grandfather, Gordon. Fortunately for Adrian, this time together meant that Gordon shared his deep-rooted knowledge of the district, the family farm, and farming. He also encouraged Adrian to learn on the job, tolerating mistakes and allowing him to learn from them.
He possesses a rare source of multi-generational, viticulture knowledge – an innate understanding of the dirt, climate, vines – which he complements with the latest research, a marketing focus, and a commitment to continually developing the vineyard.
