Description

Elegant cool climate Syrah from the Heathcote wine region of Victoria.

Aged in 100% new Hungarian oak for 12 months (which delivers a point of difference that is half way between French and American oak). Impressive, well structured and beautiful. 

Last vintage scored 94 points in Hallidays Wine Companion and completely sold out. Will age gracefully in the cellar  |  5+ years

The Kennedy Vineyard is located on prime land along the east facing slope of the Mount Camel Range on Heathcote’s famed Cambrian soil. Ten hectares of Shiraz vines were planted in the Kennedy Vineyard in 2002 and another 10 hectares in 2003.

I first experimented with Hungarian oak for my Syrah in 2020 and have been using it ever since. This type of oak imparts a subtle, elegant presence that beautifully complements the wine.
