Iconic Australian Cabernet Shiraz, in a rare cork-sealed 2018 special release.
First created in 1973, Wolf Blass Black Label has long been one of Australia’s most awarded reds. The 2018 vintage is a stunning modern example – a powerful yet beautifully polished blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from Barossa Valley, Langhorne Creek and McLaren Vale, bottled under traditional cork.
Deep, inky purple in the glass, it opens with a lifted nose of blackberry, blackcurrant and dark plum, layered with bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee beans, tobacco and toasted nut complexity. The palate is generous and luxurious: concentrated black fruits, dark chocolate and cedary oak glide across the tongue, supported by long, velvety tannins and juicy acidity.
This is seamless, plush and wonderfully textural – classic Black Label, built on multi-regional synergy and magnificent structure. A wine with decades ahead of it, yet already a pleasure to drink if you love dense, silken, age-worthy reds.
A benchmark Black Label from an outstanding South Australian vintage – serious collectors’ gear, and a spectacular bottle for the table.
