About this Wine

Greenock Creek 2020 Shiraz is sourced from small parcels of fruit across key Barossa sites, including Moppa, Tanunda, Lyndoch, and Rosedale. The vineyards are situated in ideal locations, where micro-climates, soil profiles, and elevations combine to create long-lived wines with depth and structure. The fruit was handpicked and fermented separately in open fermenters before being aged in a mix of seasoned and new French and American oak for 20 months. The result is a wine with deep red and purple colours, intense aromas of dark berries and warm spices, and a rich, silky finish that speaks to the Barossa’s great Shiraz tradition.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2020 vintage presented challenges with lower-than-average rainfall and warmer-than-usual conditions, but careful vineyard management resulted in low yields of concentrated, high-quality fruit. The wine spent 20 months in oak (10% new French oak, with the balance in seasoned French and American oak), resulting in a structured, flavour-packed Shiraz with silky tannins and layers of fruit.
