SKU:2021 | Barossa Valley | Grenache
This 2021 Grenache is a sterling example of Barossa Valley's old vine prowess, crafted from a single vineyard block of dry-grown vines surpassing 90 years of age. Winemaker James O'Shannassy has meticulously aged this vintage for 12 months in seasoned French oak, which imparts an understated elegance to the wine's robust profile.
In the glass, the wine radiates a vibrant garnet colour, leading to an enticing bouquet of red fruits—think cherries and raspberries—interlaced with a dusting of spice and the warmth of vanilla. On the palate, the wine unfolds gracefully, offering a luscious texture and a richness of flavour that only old vines can bestow. Layers of red fruit flavours are balanced by a backbone of fine tannins and a bright acidity that culminates in a finish that is both long and delightfully complex.
This wine is from Cockatoo Valley which is at the southern end sub region of the Barossa Valley.
